CONNX for Oracle DBMS
CONNX for Oracle DBMS provides secure, real-time, read/write SQL access to Oracle Codasyl DBMS on OpenVMS platforms using using 64-bit and 32-bit ODBC OLE DB JDBC and .NET. In conjunction with other CONNX modules, you can perform seamless joins between Oracle Codasyl DBMS and CONNX supported databases.
With CONNX for Oracle DBMS a single metadata model can be created that spans all enterprise data sources and applications requiring data access. The result is an enterprise-wide view of data that provides a reusable standards-based framework for information access.
The CONNX for Oracle DBMS distributed SQL engine reduces the workload placed on the server by performing CPU intensive operations where the CONNX client resides, while allowing the database engine to perform tasks for which it is best suited. This distributed SQL engine facilitates truly scaleable application development because of the additional processing power gained by the use of the CONNX client in addition to the database server.
CONNX for Oracle DBMS takes advantage of set relationships between parent and child objects and can traverse sets forward and backward, which makes access to set relationships simple through the use of virtual fields.
CONNX for Oracle DBMS also supports OpenVMS Remote Procedure Calls, enabling the reuse of existing business logic, remote execution of batch jobs and procedures.
